Listening
The teacher plays a
English song consisting of some different English tenses. After the students
listen to the song for the first time, the teacher distributes handout, in
this case the script of the song. The script consists of incomplete song
lyrics in order the students will complete it while listening to the song for
the second time.

By listening to the
English song, the students can practice their ability in catching the song
lyrics and also the meaning of the song lyrics.

Pronunciation
After completing the
song lyrics, the teacher asks the students to pronounce some difficult words
of the song lyrics. When the teacher finds the students still have difficulty
in pronouncing those words, the teacher then plays the native speaker voice
in pronouncing those words one by one. The students follow the way of the
native speaker pronounces the words.

The students will be
familiar with some difficult words consisting in the song lyrics then they
will be able to pronounce those words in the right way.

Vocabulary
After practicing
pronouncing some difficult words, the teacher discusses the meaning of the
song lyrics with the students. When the students find some unfamiliar words,
the teacher helps them to translate those words.

This activity can
help the students to increase their vocabulary. One of the easy ways to
remember words is through song.

Grammar
In the last activity,
the teacher discusses the tenses consisting in the song. The teacher takes
some sentences in the form of Simple Past Tense & Present Perfect Tense.
After showing those sentences, the teachers asks the students to find the
formula of both tenses. When the students can’t find the formula by
themselves, the teacher guides them.

Preparation
Prepare a laptop, CD or containing
English songs and also load speaker. The song should contain some different
English tenses. Prepare also the script of the song lyrics but the lyrics must
be incomplete in order that the students will complete it.
Procedure
1. Share the students the script of
the song lyrics.
2. Play the song and let the students
listen to it. Ask the students to fill the blank or complete lyrics of the
song while listening.
3. Play the song once or two times
again and make sure that the students can correct their mistakes.
4. After the students complete the
song lyrics, discuss their answer, correct their mistakes and explain the
tenses used in every part.
5. After getting the complete lyrics,
let the students sing and find some difficult words from the lyrics. Next,
guide the students to pronounce those difficult words correctly by playing
the native speaker sounds from the laptop.
